Former convict Shanita Namuyimbwa commonly known as ‘Bad Black’ who got a four year jail sentence for stealing her former British lover’s Uganda Shs11 billion (over US$3 million), David Greenhalgh, was on Wednesday left in shock when Julina Kayomozi publicly denied plans to produce a single jointly.
Bad Black upon her release from Luzira Prison on Monday said she was switching to gospel music and would release a single with prominent artists.
“Thanks God I am out of prison. I have served my term and I am going to preach the word of God and also record musician especially gospel. I have three children and a husband who I will spend most of my time. I am going to record my first single featuring the media before a fly out for a holyday to Bangkok,” she said.
Local media have since quoted Bad Black singling out Juliana Kanyomozi who has distanced from the deal.
“I cannot perform with an ex-convict,” she said.
When contacted through her promoter mobile phone Edison Kirabira, the Ex-Convict was speechless. She hanged up without saying word. When called again, Edison answered saying, “no beef okay” (meaning I donot want to fight wars.”
Bad Black Ugandan lover, Meddie Ssentongo, with whom she squandered the money originally meant for investment got an 18 month jail term.
Asked about Sentongo, her former Ugandan lover boy, Namuyimbwa was reluctant to
“Remind me who is he? I do not know him and I do not want to know because when one stays long in prison, memory tends to wipe out. You need to remind me,” she further said.
“All those girls who have been around me please do not come to me. I now know who my friends are. Those who I know as my friends I will invite them for the party to celebrate coming out of court and launch of my single.”
Asked on the condition of jail, she said, “It is not the best. I appeal to President Yoweri Museveni to pardon mothers who are on long sentence. I will do my best to raise some of the basic needs of the women inmates.”
Before conviction, Namuyimbwa and Sentongo used to live an extravagant life style. As soon as she walked out, Namuyimbwa resumed her old habit dishing out Shs20,000 to boda boda cyclists that escorted her from Luzira up to Bugoblo where she addressed the media.
